Bay View Farm Kona Coffee Tasting Menu

Free Coffee Tasting Menu: A Sip of Kona’s Best

  • Medium Roast (Whole Bean)
Our signature medium roast is vibrant and layered. Expect dark chocolate and pomegranate upfront, notes of caramel brittle, subtle jasmine florals, and a touch of sandalwood. With a juicy citrusy acidity and full syrupy mouthfeel, this roast showcases the best of our terroir.

  • Dark Roast (Whole Bean)
A bold, smooth roast for those who love depth. This cup delivers dark chocolate and lemon-thyme aromas, a satiny mouthfeel, and nutty, cedar, and herbal undertones for a luxurious finish.

  • Peaberry Roast (Whole Bean Bags for Sale Only)
A rare Kona treasure. Peaberries—small, round beans packed with flavor—offer a concentrated Kona profile that’s bright yet smooth, rich with earthy sweetness, and a velvety finish. Limited availability makes this roast extra special, which is why we only offer the peaberry roast in bags for sale and not for tastings.

  • Kona Joy Medium Roast (Whole Bean)
A true fan favorite. Naturally infused with notes of toasted coconut, roasted macadamia, and creamy chocolate, Kona Joy brings island warmth to every cup.

Kona Coffee Roasting Process

Our Coffee: From Seedling to Sip

Our 25-acre Kona coffee farm, perched just above 800 feet in elevation, dedicates 17 acres to cultivating Arabica coffee nourished by young volcanic soil and the cool mauka showers of Mauna Loa.

The coffee season begins in November when white blossoms blanket the trees and runs through May, with hand-picking of ripe coffee cherries taking place July through December.

Your tour includes a walkthrough of our entire production process—from the coffee mill, where the cherries are washed and fermented, to our sun-drying decks.

Guests will learn about our organic byproduct recycling, USDA grading, and if you're lucky, may possibly see the grading machines in action—a feature that sets Bay View apart. Lastly, visitors will tour our roasting facility, where small-batch roasting ensures peak freshness. Live viewings of the roasting machine depend on seasonality and our production cycle.

You'll finish off the tour by sipping our coffees while taking in the stunning Kona coastline overlooking the famous Kealakekua Bay where Captain James Cook Monument is located.

Hawaiian Mango

More Than Coffee: A Journey Through Hawaiian Agriculture

Led by our friendly and knowledgeable guides—some of whom have lived and worked in the Kona coffee scene for decades—your farm experience includes more than just coffee.

Our tours cover a rich variety of local fruits and flora, including a mango orchard with 10 varieties, Hawaiian apple bananas with their apple-like aroma and tangy sweetness, Sharwell avocados with their creamy, nutty texture, and sweet white guavas and white pineapples known for their low acidity and luscious flavor.

We also grow the delicious Sunrise papaya among other varieties with its deep reddish flesh and offer insight into native Hawaiian plants and their cultural significance. Depending on the season, you’ll even get to purchase some of our fruits —fresh, ripe, and full of island flavor.

We recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes and bringing a light sweater—the afternoon mauka chill can be cool. And don’t worry about sudden showers; we’ve got umbrellas on hand for those gentle volcanic rain mists.

Iwa Enos

Meet Iwa Enos – Your Local Kona Coffee Expert

One of our most famous alaka'i (guides), Iwa Enos, brings a lifetime of Naʻauao (knowledge) to your tour.

Raised on a nearby Kona coffee farm, Iwa learned the ropes of growing and selling coffee cherries from a young age. She’s an expert in every step of the process—from planting and hand-picking to roasting and brewing—and she shares her insights with warmth, aloha, and a deep passion for Kona coffee.

Come talk coffee with her, and you’ll leave knowing more than just coffee—you’ll feel like part of our ʻohana (family).

Bay View Farm Dog

Meet the Farm ʻOhana – Our Furry & Scaly Friends

Bay View Farm wouldn’t be complete without our animal ʻohana. Meet “Honey” and “Ha'ina, our friendly and spirited poi farm dogs who often trot alongside us during the tour.

You’ll also spot our playful farm cats, who keep watch over the drying decks, and the beautiful gold dust day geckos, adding bright green and gold flashes to the tropical foliage.

And finally, you might hear “Buddy” the rooster — who just wandered in one day like he belonged — now he watches over the farm, keeping bugs off the crops in his little island sanctuary. They’re all part of what makes Bay View Farm feel like a living, breathing home.
